Doomsday in Dec 2012? Does NASA Predict Total Blackout in December?

Of late, many false posts are being published on Facebook regarding some so-called NASA predictions about total blackout on Earth towards the end of Dec 2012. Here is a sample post that first came on Facebook on Sept. 14, 2012 and frequently getting published thereafter:

"US scientists (of NASA) predict total darkness on planet earth for 3 days from Dec 22 2012. It is NOT the end of the world, it is just an alignment of the Universe, where the Sun and the earth will align for the first time. All planets are expected to align in a straight line as a result of which there could be some natural calamities on Earth. The earth will shift from the current third dimension to zero dimension, then shift to the 4th dimension. During this transition, the entire Universe will face a big change, and we will see an entire brand new world. The 3 days blackout is predicted to happen on Dec 22, 23, 24, 2012.... So do good be good live for the present enjoy life."

I have gone through a genuine article published on About.com that confirmed that NASA has not predicted anything as spread in the rumor above.  Phrases such as — "total blackout of planet," "alignment of the universe," "shift from the current third dimension to zero dimension," etc. are quite meaningless and nonsense.

"alignment of the universe," - this phrase as quoted in the above false post may be referring to an yearly occurrence of the passing of the sun across the approximate center of our Milky-Way galaxy on Dec. 21, 2012 (the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere). This event as normally occurs in every year doesn't cause any bad impacts or blackouts on earth or in our solar planetary system.

All those false predictions about Doomsday-2012 also revolve around the finding of a giant black hole near the center of our galaxy. People simply predict that this super-massive black hole may end up in swallowing many stars, including our Sun and its planets. 

Lot of changes are happening daily to our ever expanding Universe. As such, many of those events are capable of wreaking havoc on the precious life and Eco system on the earth, which is comparatively a small object moving along with supernovas and other jumbo celestial objects in the Universe. So, in fact, any day, even today, can be a doomsday - it need not to be exactly in Dec 2012. In general, everything has a life period - one day, our Sun also will finish burning its atomic fuel and that'll be the natural end of life on earth and the destruction of our Solar system. But, well ahead of that normal death, man's own makings like the pollution and global warming may end up in calling in advance the Doomsday!  

So, be a good person and do good things to our mother Earth and its other inhabitants (Live & Let Live), not only on those predicted Doomsday's in Dec 2012, but on every other days also - nobody can foretell when is your doomsday!

Today's breaking news: Supreme Court Cancels all 2G Licenses

In a significant rule on the ongoing 2G spectrum scam, the Supreme Court today (2 Feb) cancelled all 122 telecom licences allotted under the 2G spectrum on or after January 10, 2008, ascertaining that these licenses were granted in an arbitrary and unconstitutional manner.

The apex court observed that 85 out of the 122 licences were outside the eligibility criteria for allocation. The verdict further said that telecom regulator TRAI will make new guidelines for the fresh issue of new licenses in two months.

The cancelled licenses include that of Videocon (21), Uninor (22), Idea (9), Tata Teleservices (3), Swan Telecom (13) and Loop (21). There is also a 5 crore penalty each on Uninor, Swan Telecom and Tata Tele, while Loop, S-Tel, Allianz and Sistema Shyam will have to pay a fine of 50 lakhs.

Commenting on the ruling, TRAI Chairman JS Sarma said that he did not expect disruption of facilities or services to the customers. He added that TRAI would now follow the auction method to allot new licences. He also hinted that TRAI would now start consultation process with telecom companies.

The SC ruling evoked mixed reactions among lawyers. HP Ranina, corporate tax lawyer, said that this decision will shake up the whole of corporate India, not only telecom companies. Lawyer Majid Menon agrees, saying that those companies who were not even involved in the scam will have to suffer.

While maintain that the SC should have refrained from such a move, SC lawyer Ram Jethmalani says that the political implication of the verdict is that the current government will have to resign and not continue even for a day.

Meanwhile, the SC has deferred  the Chidambaram case to Trial Court which will take the decision on Saturday, 4 Feb. So there is still no clarity on whether he will be charged as a co-accused or even about his role. Advocate Ranina says that this verdict will now put Chidambaram on tenterhooks because it means that there is something to wait for on Saturday.

The government, however, still maintains that there was nothing wrong with their policy, and that only implementation was flawed. Therefore, this time round they will ensure complete transparency in the issue process, sources said.

Angry Birds to attack Facebook on Valentine's Day!

Angry Birds, the most popular video game developed by Finnish computer game developer Rovio Mobile in Dec 2009, is going to be launched on Facebook soon. It is expected to get on with 800 million users of Facebook at once on Valentine’s Day. The launching will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia, which has the second largest user base for Facebook.

According to reports, Angry Birds will transform into a social game complete with leaderboards so users can challenge their friends on Facebook.

This comparatively cheaper but very thrilling game has been downloaded more than 700 million times and is expected cross one billion in 2012.

The game has wingless crazy birds which can be launched at pigs stationed on or within various structures. All the pigs on the ground are to be annihilated and new birds – some with special powers - appear as players advance through the game. The amazing popularity of angry birds can be attributed to its qualities of addictive game-play, comical style, and low price.

Railways issue non-convertible bonds of Rs 1,000

Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) has decided to issue tax-free bonds to fund rail construction projects. The railways' financing arm proposes to issue secured, redeemable, non-convertible bonds of Rs 1,000 face value each in the nature of debentures, aggregating to Rs 3,000 crore.

Minimum purchase: 10 bonds, and thereafter in multiples of 5 bonds.

The bonds are to be listed on NSE & BSE. The issue opens on January 27 and closes on February 10.

We read every now and then that so and so student drowned in a lake or river during excursions or study tour.

Every important life thus wasted is a pity and caused due to sheer negligence.

These news are published quite often and i don't understand why the hell it is repeated again and again..Are the students in groups, going for excursions, less intelligent than herds of cattle? Even animals show more intelligence in such situations..they learn from past mistakes! But not our young generation!

Please for heaven's sake, try to understand that your swimming pool mastery will not work out in rivers and lakes where there will be strong undercurrents. This don't require Einstein's theory of relativity or an MBA or IIT degrees to understand this simple fact.

Next time before you jump like a fool into a wild river, please think about your loved ones at home, who sweat hard to send you for higher studies..

Tribal women from Idukki don't want to menstruate!

After the safety concerns of Mullaperiyar Dam , Idukki has another shocking news..this time from tribal girls!

After news about the possibility of bursting of Mullaperiyar dam, here is another shocking news from Idukki district of kerala. In the villages of Marayoor, Vattavada and Kanthaloor of Idukki, it is reported that the tribal adivasi women folks take contraceptive pills to avoid menstruation.

According to the tribal custom, a menstruating woman has to stay away from the main house and she has to live in a special attachment to the house known as Valapurai. To avoid this inconvenience, the tribal women started to take Mala-D pills that stop menstruation.

P.T. Thomas, Member of Parliament from Idukki, confirmed that the news is true and said he was shocked to hear such a bad practice. One of the bad effects is that girls who just started menstruating and have taken the tablets for some years find it difficult to conceive after marriage.

Usha Henry, the village council president at Marayoor, told reporters that this has become a serious issue and they were running awareness campaigns against the ill effects of the practice. Pankajam, a health worker at the village said: "We do conduct health camps, conduct stage shows to educate them about why they should stop this. But one problem is that with the Tamil Nadu border quite close to these villages, if they don't get the contraceptive from shops here, then there are agents who supply it from there."

Cloning – The Mahabharata Connection!

It’s a much talked about but less researched topic regarding a great treasure of hypotheses in the Mahabharata and other epics from ancient Indian literature that may lead to mind boggling scientific discoveries.

Everybody remembers Dolly, the cloned sheep and now it is an obsession among the scientists to go for human cloning. Recently we heard that somewhere at a secret location the human cloned baby may be awaiting delivery!

But as per the epics even five thousand years ago there were human clones lived in ancient India! There were two ‘acharyas’ (teachers)- one was Kripacharya, son of sage Sharadwan and the other was Dronacharya, son of sage Bharadwaj – both  were born of one parent only (so naturally clones !)  according to the Mahabharata written by sage Vyasa.

It’s great to see the wonderful imaginations with a specific scientific edge emanated from people who lived more than thousands of years ago. That is surely one aspect of the greatness and divination of the epics. Cloning is just one example, there are many more! Many things discovered and many more things yet to be developed from the conjectures in the epics.

The scientific researchers have to churn out the Ramayana and the Mahabharata with due reverence and then we will be surprised! The churning will deliver the ‘Amrita’ (Nectar), the panacea for all our problems, divine as well as physical.

Just to enumerate a few points of importance from the epics, compare the Pushpaka Vimana (aircraft) of King Ravana of Sri Lanka with our modern airliners! The ‘divine eye’ given by sage Veda Vyasa to Dhritarashtra who then gave it to Sanchaya through which the Mahabharata war at distant Kurukshetra were easily seen from a royal room at Hastinapur palace – Compare this with our Telescope or TV live telecasts.

Compare the Brahmastra with the nuclear warhead missiles of the modern warfare. There are also numerous examples which can be linked to modern day telepathy. It is interesting to think that the Kaurava brothers were actually test tube babies because of their birth from earth pots!

To think about other areas of significance, let us consider the theory of immortality. There are already seven immortals described in the epics, who will live for ever as long as the world lasts. They are Ashwatama, Mahabali, Veda Vyasa, Hanuman, Vibhishan, Kripacharya and Parasu Rama.

It will now be too immature to say but cloning may eventually lead to the creation of immortals in the near future by constantly replacing old cells and organs with new cloned ones!

The great scientist, Albert Einstein, had also thrown a challenge to the scientific researchers to cross the speed of light and there by transform into a form of energy particles. Thus ‘energised’ people would be immortals without any signs of ageing of the body!

Reflect for a while on the ‘Mritha Sanjeevani’ plant which had resuscitated Lakshmana, the brother of Lord Rama and also about the divine drink, ‘Amrita’ which was also supposed to impart immortality.

Another field of research is that of cosmetics and body care. The sage Parasara after having sexual intercourse with the girl named ‘Matsya Gandi’ (fish smelling) had changed her into ‘Kasturi Gandi’ (musk smelling) and also restored her virginity (even after giving birth to a child!)

Then there comes the queen, Panchali who got a boon from Lord Shiva that she would be able to keep her youthful vigour and beauty albeit she had to live with five husbands!

Chew upon the story of the sex change operation done by ‘Thumburu Gandharva’ on Shikandini, the daughter of Panchala king where in she had been converted into Shikandi, a male.

Also give a nice thought to the magnificent powers of ‘Akshaya Patra’ (donated by Sun god to the Pandava princes) and Kamadhenu, the divine cow, and also the mighty natural armour and ear rings of Karna, the Surya putra (son of Sun god)!

This is just a superficial outline. There are many more things in the depths of the great epics which the scientific, social and medical experts should look at, research and discover, and then many incredible things may be possible for mankind.

There is not much time left with. The earth and the sun are not going to be here for ever. Our current system of rockets and space technology are just child’s toys (compared to the infinitely spread Universe!) to move around our solar system only. To scale down the vast universe we need minimum the speed of light and immortality!

Dramatic changes just like that of the invention of transistors in place of the valve based systems and also the ‘Nano Technology’ that has the potential to bring wonders in the computer sector, are needed in our rocket propulsion technology in order for us to migrate into other friendly, inhabited solar systems in the milky way galaxy and beyond.

So let us hope – the great epics will show a way! The gate way to enormous findings and thereby to greatness!!!

New & easy family planning method for women!

Here is a simple, inexpensive family planning method for women that just requires them to count beads. Developed by researchers at Georgetown University's Institute for Reproductive Health, the product named Cyclebeads has an ex-factory price of Rs.50.
Cyclebeads is a colour-coded string of beads that represents the days of a woman's menstrual cycle. A woman simply has to move a ring over the beads to track each day of her cycle. The colour of the beads lets her know whether she is on a day when she can conceive.
The product is based on the Standard Days Method (SDM) and is very effective in preventing unplanned pregnancies.
The method is designed for women with cycles between 26 and 32 days. A woman has to put a rubber ring on the red bead the day she starts her period. Each day she moves the ring by one bead. If the ring is on a red or dark bead, there is little possibility of pregnancy and so the day is safe for intercourse.
If the ring is on a white bead -- days 8 through 19 -- there is a high possibility of becoming pregnant with unprotected intercourse.

Mullaperiyar updates: IIT Roorkie report warns about the catastrophe!

First section of the technical report, ‘dam-break-analysis’, prepared by IIT Roorkie on Mullaperiyar Dam has been published. It warns that if the Mullaperiyar dam breaks due to earth quakes or automatically due to ageing, the entire dam will collapse within a very short time of 12 minutes creating chaos all around. The flood water level will attain around 40 meters height attaining greater speeds as it will be engulfing people and properties. This will be another tsunami-like situation.

In such a scenario, the Vallakkadvu, the human settlement closest to the dam, would be flooded within 26 minutes, Vandiperiyar within 31 minutes and Idukki dam, situated about 35km from Mullaperiyar, within 128 minutes, said P. J. Joseph, Kerala Water Resources Minister and Kerala Congress (M) leader.

Joseph said the IIT report will be handed over to the Centre for Earth Sciences and Kerala Congress will renew its agitations against Tamil Nadu’s negative attitude towards reconstruction of the 116-year-old dam.


Comments: some of my north Indian friends exclaimed: “The dam is owned by Kerala, the water is owned by Kerala and the entire property is situated in Kerala…then why doesn’t the Kerala govt decommission the age-old and weak dam? The matter should not have gone to court. Even if there is only a one percent chance that the dam may collapse and wreak havoc to the lives and properties of the people, then any other state – even Tamil Nadu – would have demolished their dam years before!”

Suppose the dam breaks today due to an earth quake or by its own…will anybody be able to give back the thousands of lives that may be lost? And who will be answerable for the chaos, the devastation and crores of property damage to be faced by the people of Kerala?

Mullaperiyar samara samidhi  has announced to observe hartal in Idukki district on Wednesday, 18 Jan. Kerala Congress (Mani) group has extended its full support for the hartal along with the CPI(M) led LDF front. The fresh agitations on the mullaperiyar issue have become necessary as the PM has not effectively involved in forcing Tamil Nadu to talk with Kerala govt to try to solve the issue amicably. Also, the union minister Ashwani Kumar unnecessarily talked in favor of Tamil Nadu on Sunday causing the immediate provocation.  All schools to remain closed and, exams and tests postponed in the state for tomorrow.

Union minister Ashwani Kumar on Sunday, 15 Jan, said the Mullaperiyar dam is safe. The central minister shouldn't have said this as the case is pending with the Supreme Court. The mullaperiyar dam is over hundred years old and it was made at a time when there was no concrete making technology available. And a great portion of the material, Soorkey, used to cement the stones together have washed away with the elapse of many decades. The recent bore hole analysis has clearly proved this factor. Moreover, there occur frequent tremors or mild quakes near the mullaperiyar dam site. Considering all these points, one can easily understand the fear and tension faced by the people who live close to the dam. These hapless people say they see nightmares and death is staring at them every minute!They demand the state govt should protect their lives and decommission the mullapriyar dam at the earliest...what do you say?

Since July this year 29 tremors of varying intensities have occurred in Idukki and adjoining places causing further concern about the safety of Mullaperiyar dam.Meanwhile, revenue minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said an agreement will be signed within a week with the Central department of Science & Technology in order to closely monitor the Mullaperiyar dam and the water level in it. Defence miister Antony said the central government will continue its efforts to discuss the Mullaperiyar dam issue with Kerala and Tamil Nadu governments.

Updates on 29 Dec 2011: Mullaperiyar: Kerala police prevents attempts by Tamil Nadu to make unauthorized repair works on the dam. The study report by Roorkee IIT about the catastrophe to occur in the event of the dam collapsel to be submitted on 15 Jan 2012. 

Mullaperiyar updates on 10 Jan 2012:  Kerala CM Oommen Chandy to meet Central minister for Water Resources to discuss the Mullaperiyar dam issue. Meanwhile, the borehole testing at the dam structure revealed that the dam is really very weak as suspected by experts. It is reported that the percentage of Surkey mixture that supposedly cements the stones together is very low threatening the safety of the over hundred or so years old dam.

Latest updates on 12 Jan: Kerala govt has finally come out with bold steps in Mullaperiyar case. The govt has submitted its second report to the high powered committee appointed by the Supreme Court.  Points emphasized by Kerala govt on the Mullaperiyar issue are:

• The Supreme Court has to decide on the share of water that is to be given to Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
• Kerala has the right to get revenue for the Mullaperiyar water share given to Tamil Nadu and also the electricity generated by Tamil Nadu.
• The Kerala govt has the legal power to decommission the Mullaperiyar dam in order to safeguard the life and property of its people.

Meanwhile, in a dramatic move, the Karunanidhi led DMK today said Devikulam and Peermedu taluks, where the Mullaperiyar dam is located, belonged to Tamil Nadu and urged the Centre govt to take steps to restore them to the state.

Seven reasons to save Mullaperiyar:
1. If Mullaperiyar dam collapses, there will be chaos in Ernakulam and Kochi, the industrial hub of Kerala causing damages worth crores of rupees. And if the reverse Tsunami caused by Mullapriyar waters breaks up the Idukki dam, then that will be the end of Kerala.
2. The main under-water sea cables for internet services that connect India to the rest of the world is located at Kochi. If Mullaperiyar breaks, South Indian IT Hub will come to a standstill. All the gateway CISCO routers, switches etc in Kakkanad will be damaged.
3. There will be explosions and damages at Cochin Refineries Limited at Karimugal in case Mullaperiyar dam bursts. The flow of refined petroleum products to the whole of South India will be paralysed.
4. Three districts of Kerala will be washed away with the bursting waters of Mullaperiyar.
5. Lives and properties of millions of people will be ruined. Normal life – TV, internet, mobile networks- will be disturbed.
6. Port City of Cochin and Vallarpadam projects will be washed away with disastrous consequences.
7. Farmers of Tamil Nadu will no longer get water from Mullaperiyar for their agricultural needs and that will spoil the bread and butter of thousands of poor people.

ഇന്ന് മകരവിളക്ക്‌ !

മകര വിളക്കിനെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇപ്പോള്‍ വിവാദം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട് ..ഇന്നലെ പൊന്നമ്പലമെട്ടിനു അടുത്ത് ദീപം തെളിഞ്ഞത് ആശയക്കുഴപ്പത്തിന്   ഇടയാക്കി. വൈകിട്ട് 6 :55 നു ദീപം തെളിഞ്ഞതിനോടൊപ്പം ആകാശത്ത് ഒരു നക്ഷത്രവും തെളിഞ്ഞത് അയ്യപ്പന്മാര്‍ക് ആവേശമായി,  അവര്‍ ശരണം വിളികളോടെ അയ്യപ്പ സ്വാമിയേ സ്തുതിച്ചു.

ഇന്നലെ കണ്ടത് ടോര്‍ച് ലൈ റ്റിന്‍റെ പ്രകാശമായിരുന്നെന്നു ദേവസ്വം ബോര്‍ഡ്‌ ഇന്ന് വ്യക്തമാക്കി. ചില തത്പര കക്ഷികള്‍  മകര ജ്യോതിയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടു ആശയക്കുഴപ്പം സൃഷ്ടിക്കുവാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും ബോര്‍ഡ്‌ പ്രസിഡണ്ട് പറഞ്ഞു.

അത്ധ്യാത്മീകവും അയ്യപ്പ ഭക്തന്മാര്‍ക് ഒരു അനുഭൂതി നല്‍കുന്നതുമായ മകര സംക്രമ പൂജയും മകര ജ്യോതിയും എന്ത് കൊണ്ട് വിവാദമാകുന്നു?

ആദ്യം ഈ പ്രശ്നം എടുത്തിട്ടത് കേരളത്തിലെ യുക്തിവാദി സംഘം ആണ്. പൊന്നമ്പലമെട്ടിലെ മകര ജ്യോതി  ദൈവീകമല്ലെന്നും അത് മനുഷ്യ നിര്‍മിതി ആണെന്നും അവര്‍ ആരോപിച്ചു. പൊന്നമ്പലമേട്ടില്‍ പോയി സത്യാവസ്ഥ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരുമെന്ന് അവര്‍ ഭിഷണിയും  മുഷക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. പിന്നിടാണ് അത് കോടതിയില്‍ വിചാരണ ചെയ്യപ്പെടുകയും ദേവസ്വം ബോര്‍ഡ്‌ മകര ജ്യോതി മനുഷ്യ നിര്‍മിതി  ആണെന്ന് സമ്മതിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തത് .

മകര ജ്യോതി മനുഷ്യ നിര്‍മിതി ആണെന്ന് സമമതിച്ചിട്ടു യുക്തി വാദി സംഘത്തിനോ മറ്റു ഏതെങ്കിലും തത്പര കഷികള്‍കോ എന്താണ് പ്രയോജനം ഉണ്ടായയത്?

മകര ജ്യോതിയുടെ പേരില്‍,  ദേവസ്വം ബോര്‍ഡ്‌-ഉം  അയ്യപ്പ ഭക്തന്മാരും പൊതു ജനത്തിന്  എന്ത് ദ്രോഹമാണ്  ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ളത് ? അവര്‍ അവരുടെ ആചാരങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നു. അവരുടെ വിശ്വാസങ്ങള്‍ സമൂഹത്തിനു ദോഷമില്ലാതെ ചെയ്യുന്നു, അതില്‍ എന്തായിരുന്നു തെറ്റ്?

ആചാരങ്ങളും, അനുഷ്ടാനങ്ങളും, വിശ്വാസ സംഹിതകളും ഒക്കെ ഒരു സമൂഹത്തിന്‍റെ നിലനില്പിന് ആവശ്യമാണ്. ഒരു സമൂഹത്തിന്‍റെ പൊതു നന്മക്കും, മോറല്‍ വാല്യൂസിനും, എല്ലാം മതങ്ങളുടെയും ആത്മീയ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ എപ്പോഴും ഒഴിച്ചു കൂടാന്‍ ആവാത്തതാണ്.

ആചാരങ്ങളെയും അനുഷ്ടാനങ്ങളെയും യുക്തിവാദത്തിന്‍റെ മുള്‍മുന കൊണ്ട് കുത്തിക്കീറുമ്പോള്‍ നാം നമ്മുടെ തന്നെ മൂല്യ ശോഷണത്തി നും സമൂഹ നന്മക്കും പാര വക്കുകയാണ് എന്ന് ഓര്‍ക്കണം. ശരിയാണ് നിങ്ങള്‍ പറയുന്നത്, അനുഷ്ടാനങ്ങളും ആചാരങ്ങളും പൊതു നന്മക്കു എതിരായിട്ടാണ് ഭവിക്കുന്നതെങ്കില്‍.. ഉദാഹരണത്തിന്, സതി, അയിത്തം തുടങ്ങിയ ആചാരങ്ങള്‍ മാറ്റപ്പെടെണ്ടവ ആയിരുന്നു... അതിനു യുക്തി വാദികളോടും, പുരോഗമന വാദികളോടും, മറ്റു ആചാര്യന്‍മാരോടും ഒക്കെ നമ്മുടെ സമൂഹം കടപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

പക്ഷേ, മകരവിളക്ക്‌ ആര്‍ക്കു എന്ത് ദ്രോഹമാണ് ചെയ്തത്? കടുത്ത വ്രതാനുഷ്ടനങ്ങളോടെ പതിനെട്ടാം പടി ചവുട്ടുന്ന അയ്യപ്പന്മാര്‍ക്ക് മകര ജ്യോതി ഒരു സായുജ്യം ആയിരുന്നു... ഈശ്വരനെ നേരിട്ടു കാണാത്തിടത്തോളം  നമ്മള്‍ ചില ആത്മീയ കാര്യങ്ങളില്‍ നമ്മുടെ അന്ത:സത്തയെ, ഉള്‍മനസ്സിനെ അനുസരിച്ച് ജീവിക്കണം. അതാണ് ഒരു ഉത്തമ സമൂഹത്തിനു നല്ലത്. ഇന്നത്തെ നമ്മുടെ മൂല്യച്ച്യുതിയും, അമിത മദ്യപാനാസഖ്തി, സുഖഭോഗ അതിതല്പര്ത, ഗുരു- മാതാപിതാക്കളോടുള്ള ആദരക്കുരവ് - തുടങ്ങിയ സാമുഹിക തിന്മകളും എല്ലാം, മലയാളിയുടെ പൊങ്ങച്ചവും, അഹംഭാവവും, ഒരു പരിധിവരെ യുക്തിവാദവും ഒക്കെ കൊണ്ടുണ്ടയതാണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ ആരും മുഖം ചുളിക്കരുത് - കാരണം അതാണ് യാതാര്‍ത്ഥ്യം.

മകര ജ്യോതിയിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങിവരുകയാണെങ്കില്‍ ..അയ്യപ്പ ഭക്തന്‍മാര്‍ എത്ര യോ നാളായി ആര്‍ക്കും ഒരു ബുക്ത്തിമുട്ടും വരുത്താതെ അത് അനുഷ്ടിച്ചു വരികയായിരുന്നു.. എപ്പോഴാണ് ഇത് ഒരു പ്രശ്നമായത്?

ഇതില്‍ ഒരു പങ്കു നമ്മുടെ ടിവി ചാനലുകള്‍ക്കും ഉണ്ട്. മകര ജ്യോതി ടിവി  ചാനലുകാര്‍ തത്സമയ സംപ്രേഷണം നടത്തുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ.. തമ്മില്‍ തമ്മില്‍ കേമാനകുവാന്‍ വേണ്ടി, അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ചാനലുകള്‍ തമ്മിലുള്ള മത്സരത്തിനു വേണ്ടി, മകര ജ്യോതിയുടെ തത്സമയ അവതാരകര്‍ കാട്ടിക്കൂട്ടുന്ന കോലാഹലങ്ങള്‍ നിങ്ങള്‍ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലേ? കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലേ? ഏതാണ്ട്, നെഹ്‌റു ട്രോഫി വള്ളം കളിയുടെ തത്സമയ പ്രക്ഷേപണം നടത്തുന്നതുപോലെയാണ് അവര്‍ മകരജ്യോതിയെ അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്‌..വിഡ്ഢികള്‍...ഇവരാണ് ആത്മീയവും പാവനവുമായ ഒരു ആചാരത്തെ കച്ചവടവല്‍കരിച്ചത്.

പത്രപ്രവര്‍ത്തനം എപ്പോഴും അറിവ് പകരുവാനും സമൂഹ നന്മക്കും വേണ്ടിയാവണം. അല്ലാതെ ഒച്ചപ്പാടുണ്ടാക്കി ഇല്ലാത്ത കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ പെരിപ്പിച്ചു ചികഞ്ഞെടുക്കുവാന്‍ ആകരുത്..

നമ്മള്‍ കാണുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ, ചില പത്രക്കാര്‍ എന്തെങ്കിലും രാഷ്ട്രിയ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്‍ വരുമ്പോള്‍, നേതാക്കളുടെ വായില്‍ കുത്തിയിളക്കി ഓരോ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ചോദിച്ചു അവര്‍ പറയുന്ന വിഡ്ഢിത്തം എടുത്തു പൊക്കി, പെരുപ്പിച്ചു ചാനലുകളിലൂടെ തത്സമയം, തത്സമയം എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു പ്രക്ഷേപണം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്..ഇവരയല്ലേ യതാര്‍ത്ഥത്തില്‍ നമ്മള്‍ ക്രൂശിക്കേണ്ടത്? !

ആദ്യം വ്രക്ക ദാനം, പിന്നെയിതാ മഹാദാനം: ചിട്ടിലപ്പിള്ളിക്ക് ഒരു വോട്ട്!

ആലുവ കിഴക്കേ കടുങ്ങല്ലോരിലെ ലോട്ടറി വില്പനക്കാരനായ സുരേഷിന്റെ സത്യസന്തതക്ക് കൊച്ചൌസേപ്പ് ചിട്ടിലപ്പിള്ളിയുടെ അഞ്ചു ലക്ഷം രൂപ പ്രോത്സാഹന പാരിതോഷികം.

ഒരു കോടി രൂപ അടിച്ച ടിക്കറ്റ്‌ രാഘവന്‍ എന്ന ആള്‍ തലേ ദിവസം സുരേഷിന്റെ അടുത്ത് നിന്നും കടം വാങ്ങിയിട്ട് രൂപ നാളെ തരാം എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു അവിടെത്തന്നെ എല്പിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു..പിറ്റേ ദിവസം ടിക്കെട്ടിനു ഒരു കോടി അടിച്ച വിവരം സുരേഷ് അറിഞ്ഞെങ്കിലും അത് രാഘവന് തന്നെ മടക്കികൊടുത്തു. 

സുരേഷിന്റെ  സ്ഥാനത്ത് മറ്റാരെങ്കിലും ആയിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ചിലപ്പോള്‍ വാക്കാല്‍ മാത്രം കടം പറഞ്ഞു വച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരു കോടി അടിച്ച ടിക്കറ്റ്‌ സ്വന്തം കീശയില്‍ ആക്കിയേനെ. പോലീസിനോ കോടതിക്കോ ഒന്നും അയ്യപ്പനെ സഹായിക്കുവാന്‍ ഈ സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ പറ്റില്ലായിരുന്നു. 

എന്നിട്ടും സുരേഷ് ആ ഒരു കോടി, സ്വന്തം പോക്കെടിനു പകരം അയ്യപ്പന്‍റെ പോക്കറ്റില്‍ ഇടുവാനുള്ള ധീരത കാണിച്ചു.

പക്ഷെ,  ഇവിടെ ചിട്ടിലപ്പില്ലി കാണിച്ച പ്രോത്സാഹനം, ഏതെങ്കിലും എമെല്ലെയോ, മന്ത്രിയോ ആയിരുന്നു കാണിക്കെണ്ടിയിരുന്നത്... എന്നാല്‍ അഴിമതിയും കയ്യങ്കളിയുമായി എവിടെയും കയ്യിട്ടു വാരുന്ന രാഷ്ട്രിയക്കാര്‍ സുരേഷിനെപ്പോലെ ഉള്ളവരുടെ അആത്മാര്‍ധത പായസത്തിലെ കല്ലുകടി ആയിട്ടല്ലേ കാണു!

people's Comments: The opposition parties should not take anti advantage of such serious issues. The army chief is allowed to go to court itself means that the defence ministry is clean and open minded. Of course, the PM should have intervened to amicably settle the row as did by erstwhile PM Nehru when there were some issues between the then defence minister Krishna Menon and the army chief. But as we know our PM Manmohan Singh is pretty happy to sit idle in such cases as we saw it in the case of Mullaperiyar row.
Again, the army chief should have amended his date of birth (dob) before getting promoted to the present position. The records were available to him all the time during his whole service tenure and also as an officer he is supposed to check his service records annually and report any errors. He has not done so and now just before retirement he is taking up the matter which is against national interest. Also, the mistake in the dob was made by the person himself while applying for an officer's post in the army. The post of army chief is a respected one and General Singh has diminished its values by unnecessarily going to court. In such a scenario, the President has the power to dismiss him from the reputed post, disqualifying him for inculcating not-an-officer-like behaviour.

ഈ രവിന്ദ്രന്‍ മാഷിന്റെ കാരിഎര്‍ തുടങ്ങുമ്പോള്‍ നമ്മള്‍ മലയാളികള്‍  അദ്ധേഹത്തെ കൂവി വിളിച്ചു  പുറം തള്ളിയതാണ്..അന്ന് നാട് വിട്ടു ഗള്‍ഫില്‍ പോകേണ്ടി വന്നു ആ പ്രധിഭാക്ക്..പിന്നീടു ഏതോ ഭാഗ്യവശാല്‍  ഒന്ന് രണ്ടു പടം കിട്ടി, അവ ഹിറ്റ്‌ ആയപ്പോള്‍ ആണ്  അദ്ധേഹത്തെ  പൊക്കി നടക്കുവാന്‍ ആളുണ്ടായത്  ..നമ്മള്‍ മലയാളികള്‍ വല്യ കെമെന്മാരല്ലേ.. 

ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍  ക്രൂശിക്കുക , പേരെടുത്തു വന്നാല്‍ ചെരുപ്പ് നക്കുക, മരിച്ചാല്‍ വായില്‍ കൊള്ളാത്ത വാക്കുകള്‍ കൊണ്ട് അലങ്കരിക്കുക ..നമ്മള്‍ ദയിവതിന്റെ സ്വന്തം മക്കളല്ലിയോ?!..

ഇനി, ഇമെയില്‍ വിവാദം..ട്രെയിന്‍നിലും, റെയില്‍വേ സ്റ്റേഷന്‍-നിലും ബോംബ്‌ പൊട്ടി നിസ്സഹായരായ ആളുകള്‍ മരിക്കുന്മ്പോള്‍ നമ്മുടെ ആവേശം ഒന്ന് കാണണം.. 

ഈ ബോംബ്‌ വകുന്നവരേ   പിടിക്കുവാന്‍ വേണ്ടി intelligence  ഉധ്യോഗസ്ടര്‍ കുറച്ചു ഈമൈല്‍ ചെക്ക്‌ ചെയ്താല്‍ നമ്മള്‍ ചാനലുകളായ ചാനലുകളിളുടെ ആ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ   ക്രൂശിക്കണം.. ഒന്നും അറിയാത്ത പാവങ്ങള്‍ പൊട്ടിച്ചിതറി പോവുന്നതിലും നല്ലതല്ലേ നമ്മളുടെ പ്രൈവറ്റ് മെയില്‍ നോക്കിയിട്ടെങ്കിലും അതിനെ തടയുവാന്‍ കഴിയുന്നത്‌...? 

ബോംബുമായി ആത്മഹത്യക്ക് തയ്യാറായി നില്‍ക്കുന്നവരേ അതില്‍ നിന്ന് പിന്തിരിപ്പിക്കുവാനോ, അവരെ ഈസി ആയി കണ്ടെത്തുവാണോ   പോലിസ് ദിവ്യ ശക്തിയുള്ള ദേവന്മാരോന്നുമാല്ലല്ലോ..അതിനുവേണ്ടി ആ ദുരന്തങ്ങള്‍ ഒഴിവാകുവാന്‍ വേണ്ടി രഹസ്യ്‌ വിവരം കിട്ടുന്നത് അനുസരിച്ച് നമ്മുടെ കുറെ   പ്രൈവസി   പോയാല്‍ പോകട്ടെ പൂഹെ എന്ന് വക്കുക.. അല്ലാതെ,   അതിനു അലമുറയിട്ടു കരയുക അല്ല വേണ്ടത്! 

അല്ലെങ്കില്‍ ഇതൊക്കെ ആയികൊട്ടെ, നമ്മള്‍ മലയാളികള്‍ വലിയ പുള്ളികള്‍ അല്ലിയോ.. നമുക്ക് ഹര്‍ത്താലിലും, മദ്യപാനത്തിലും, പിന്നേ നോക്ക് കുലിയിലും മറ്റും ഒന്നാമതായി അഹങ്കരിച്ചു നടക്കാം...
